Please know that Al passed away Tuesday evening. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, November 26th at Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street,Williamsport, PA 17701, with burial immediately following at Congregation Ohev Sholom Cemetery, Sand Hill Road, Montoursville, PA.

Please know that the family will be sitting shiva at the Sobel home on Saturday and Sunday, November 27th and 28th, from 6-9 P.M. with Rabbi Mandel saying prayers at 7:00 P.M.

As you know, Al worked throughout his career to improve access to justice. In the months before his death, he helped create the Central Susquehanna Valley Mediation Center, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, so that members of the community might attempt to resolve child custody and other conflicts through mediation rather than litigation. In keeping with the Jewish tradition of no flowers and his wishes, any donation in Al’s memory can be made to Central Susquehanna Valley Mediation Center (CSVMC), P.O. Box 604, Lewisburg, PA, 17837. All such donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
